The past month went by so quickly, that I still write checks for the month of May! Yikes. So much has happened in the past few weeks with the release of the new album, Light's first concert, booking gigs and now recording our first demo.
On Monday Light got together to record around 11:00 am at David's house in San Mateo. We had so many distractions, complications and crazy happenings that by 8:00 pm we almost gave up and went home. Then, something amazing happend, God worked a miracle by fixing the computer and giving us enough amazing takes to complete three songs.
Jim and David went to great pains to get a goood recording of the drums. Indeed they were successful, because the drums sound so clean you can almost feel the air move. The new audix D-6 kick mic helps a lot!
Here's the mic we used. It captures a sweet sound that packs quite a punch! It's been fun to learn more about sound engineering. There is so much to learn, but I think I have the basics.
We recorded some older originals... "Sweet Invitation" and "Unknown" as well as a new piece called "Beautiful to Me." We are so excited to hear how this all turns out. I'll keep you posted as far as when the audio is available.
